Living a life outdoors is great, but fully embracing one is much better: Shyanne Orvis does just that. Based out of beautiful Colorado, she shares her passion for fly fishing there, and all over the globe. Now a mother, she hopes to continue to inspire others to seek out conservation efforts.

RT: What do you love about the outdoors?

SO: I love how grounding the outdoors is. How time seemingly stands still and everything else in life seems to fade away. It’s a place to escape the noise and reconnect with yourself.

RT: What vehicle do you drive?

SO: Cyber Orange Ford Bronco

RT: How does your vehicle help you out in the real?

SO: I spend so much time exploring the outdoors that having a proper rig is so pivotal to an enjoyable experience. I love the off-road capabilities and the places it allows me to go! I just added a roof top tent and a rod vault for my fly rod. I love building out my rig to help elevate my adventures.

RT: Can you talk a bit about being a woman in your outdoor space?

SO: Although being a woman in a male dominated industry has its challenges it also gives me the honor of getting to represent those less heard or not taken as seriously because they are women. There have been times where I've felt I had to work twice and hard and show up better than the guy next to me just to feel worthy of being in the space or being seen. I have since realized that is just not how things need to be. It's not worth my time and it's definitely not a healthy way of looking at things. We are all worthy of being seen regardless of age, sex, race or creed.

RT: How important is representation?

SO: Transparency is key to me and if there is truth to what is being represented, I'm all for it. I've often seen things being represented one way but exposed for something completely different. If we are going to put ourselves out there it is important that we are showing the whole picture and being true to what we are speaking on.
